An inevitable chapter from History which dates back to years 1884-1899, maybe much earlier than that and still continues today.
The iconic character Dr. Mahendra Lal Sarkar, steadfast in his ideals and never shy away from speaking his mind. He dreams of establishing a "Science Association" where women would embrace the medical profession and would be capable of taking care of their own illness.
He refuses to eaxmine patients without fees and spares no word to remind the same. But reality makes this man lonely as he can see his dreams are shattered with utmost superstitions and lack of funds. When this man meets Ramakrishna Paramahansa, a wonderful transformation happens.
The play "The Unsaid" tries to depict a few chapters from the stories of this transformation. Just when memory betrays the past, some contemporary characters, their untold stories, both real and imaginery, help to kindle hope and inspiration. This production attempts to find light at the end of a dark tunnel.

Director’s Note
And with the intention of listening to five plays, I sat down to listen to the reading of the new play written by Sounava. As the lesson progressed my posture became more and more tense. An inexplicable feeling at the end of the play. The expression is an e - I have to do this play. But why? Later I thought that this drama Sounava brought out a special chapter of a memorable history in a way that not only opened my mind but also my inner sense. Cultivation of Science is a familiar name today. But many people forget that this science meeting was formed through adversity. The architect of this meeting is Mahendra Lal Sarkar. He is the main subject of the play. Pratap Shali, a prodigious man, fought over allopath to homeopath treatment philosophy, push for publication of scientific books in Bengali language, girls' education, contemporary politics. While treating Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Dev again, this atheist man got involved in a new philosophy. After the death of Sri Rama Krishna, how did he change, withdrawing himself from everything. In this forgetful age of ours, such a personal biography is really energizing, enlivening. Mahendralal reads the story of Jagdish-Avala, Sukhlata-Gurudas's-sacrifice-spirituality-reverence comes. This play captures an era by combining history and history, the era that thinks, teaches and inspires. Hence, Rangroop's new production "Unexplained".
